HSBC Group was looking for a VicePresident Wholesale Credit Approval

HSBC Group is looking for a Vice President, Wholesale Credit Approval to join our team in Mexico. This role is central to managing credit risk within Wholesale Banking, exercising delegated credit authority for both new and existing clients across various sectors. You will ensure appropriate lending structures and controls are in place to handle the inherent risks in complex transactions.

What You'll Do

  • Influence the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the project plan, commitments, and changes.
  • Drive project delivery proactively, balancing planning, scope, schedule, budget, communications, and risks.
  • Manage and plan resources, responsibilities, and schedules.
  • Establish effective project controls, procedures, and quality assurance processes.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Report progress, issues, dependencies, and risks to leadership and committees, making recommendations to influence decision making.
  • Provide management to maintain focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives and the change portfolio across HSBC.
  • Drive the adoption of HSBC project standards and work in alignment with HSBC project methodology.
  • Lead the team to meet performance targets aligned to objectives.
  • Utilize credit expertise and experience in reviewing, recommending, and approving individual credit limits within assigned authority, including performing credit analysis of financial performance, management, industry, and forecasted business plans.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 5-8 years proven, progressive, and broad-based experience in credit, lending, and/or workout areas or equivalent.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical, planning, mathematical, problem-solving, communications, financial, technical, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and discuss credit risk in new, unusual, or complex proposal structures.
