Standard Chartered is hiring a Vice President for Treasury Product Control based in Bangalore. Reporting to the Vice President / SVP of Group Treasury, you will lead a team that provides global support for asset classes including Rates, Credit, FX, and GT Business.
What You'll Do
- Manage a team covering various product categories and regions.
- Ensure appropriate controls and reviews are maintained for Daily P&L production, Core reconciliations, Month end close, and BCS.
- Ensure the teams perform timely lockdown of daily and monthly P&L.
- Substantiate daily and monthly adjustments held in P&L and control accounts.
- Review monthly balance sheet, with substantiation and potential financial exposure.
- Review various reconciliation reports, management packs, and adhoc reports.
- Review month end Journals for accrual, provision, and true up.
- Take responsibility for the quality of work submitted and ensure the highest standards are maintained.
- Ensure adherence to SLA's, KPI's, Internal metrics & FMG wide policies.
- Identify and manage risk and control breakdowns.
- Develop and maintain effective and standard processes. Maintain KOP's/DI's.
- Support change project initiatives and conduct User Acceptance Testing for system enhancements or migrations.
- Regularly interface with Traders, Product Control Management, Regional finance teams, and various internal stakeholders within GFS.
- Act as a point of reference for team members and internal clients.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, take regular feedback, anticipate and understand issues, and escalate appropriately for timely resolution.
- Manage strong relationships with support teams (IT, Operations, Risk) and bring synergies by interacting with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain a pleasant, motivating workplace environment that enables high performance.
- Monitor people performance, provide timely feedback, and perform annual and mid-year appraisals.
- Manage leaves and attrition, create sufficient backup and cross-trainings.
- Minimise dependency on key people through cross-training and succession planning.
- Manage career and growth expectations of people.
- Leverage knowledge and skills from other teams locally and globally.
- Enable movement of people as required to manage resourcing across Product Control.
What We're Looking For
- MBA, CA, CFA, or ACCA with a minimum of 12+ years of post-qualification experience in the financial services industry.
- At least 2+ years of People Management experience.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage teams.
- Control mindset and ability to identify, mitigate, and control gaps.
- Good understanding of financial market products.
- Ability to develop, implement, and maintain effective and standard operational processes.
- Excellent people and resource management skills.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
- Strong planning, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Excellent business writing and verbal English communication skills.
- Ready to travel and work in shifts.
