UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is seeking a Vice President, Transplant Services to provide executive leadership for one of the nation’s premier transplant programs. In this critical role, you will oversee the strategic direction and comprehensive administration of solid organ transplantation across UPMC, ensuring excellence in patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
- Formulate strategic assessments and lead improvements for the Transplant service across UPMC, developing plans for expansion.
- Advise the UPMC Executive Management Team on critical issues and provide strategic guidance.
- Oversee comprehensive operational analyses and provide consulting to develop solutions focused on cost and efficiency optimization.
- Manage all data-gathering systems for patient care documentation, service delivery, productivity, and management decision-making across Transplant departments.
- Develop and oversee the budget for all Transplant services, including the preparation of annual hospital and private practice operations budgets and financial performance reporting.
- Serve as a resource to maximize reimbursement, overseeing statistical analysis of patient utilization, accounts receivable, and third-party reimbursement.
- Manage partnerships with Clinical, Administrative, and Information Services staff to identify opportunities for improving the cost and quality of care through in-depth process analysis.
- Assist with Medicare Cost Report issues related to transplantation.
- Assist in developing grant proposals to secure outside funding for transplant-related activities.
- Assume responsibility for all administrative activities of the UPMC Adult and Pediatric Transplant Programs, initiating, organizing, planning, and directing their functions.
- Oversee personnel practices including recruitment, orientation, training, retention, and performance management for staff within the division.
- Serve as the liaison between Transplant and various UPP business areas, including the Central Billing Office, Central Scheduling and Registration, and Compliance.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and other regulatory requirements, as well as UNOS regulations and guidelines.
Team & Environment
You will lead the transplant oversight committee, which includes representatives from UPMC Presbyterian, UPMC Hamot, and the Central Region.
