About the Role
The individual in this role will lead the strategy and execution of a comprehensive development program, overseeing fundraising efforts, cultivating major donor relationships, and expanding revenue streams to advance mission-driven goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of annual and multi-year fundraising plans
- Manage relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and foundation funders
- Supervise a team responsible for gift processing, donor stewardship, and campaign execution
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities including grants and special events
- Collaborate with leadership to align development goals with organizational priorities
- Oversee donor cultivation events and recognition strategies
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership and board committees
- Ensure compliance with gift acceptance policies and donor agreements
- Monitor development metrics and adjust strategies based on performance data
- Strengthen pipeline development through prospect research and outreach
- Build partnerships across departments to support integrated fundraising campaigns
- Represent the organization at external meetings and community forums
- Maintain accurate records in donor database systems
- Support capital campaigns and special initiatives as needed
- Promote a culture of philanthropy across the organization
