Beacon Inspections is hiring Vehicle Inspector - Contractor (ME, NH, VT, MA, CT). As a 1099 Independent Contractor, you will perform commercial vehicle field inspections, enjoying maximum independence to set your own schedule and work with minimal guidance.
What You'll Do
- Perform commercial vehicle field inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment.
What We're Looking For
- 1099 Independent Contractor status
- Flexible Schedule (daylight hours, Monday - Friday)
- Comfortable working outdoors
- Access to a newer smartphone or tablet with sufficient data plan
- Access to a laptop/desktop computer
- Heavy Duty Truck Diagnostic Tool (must read fault codes, capture aftertreatment (DPF/DEF) status, and provide printable or exportable report)
- Reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft and other web based software
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Nice to Have
- Strong familiarity with trucks, trailers, and equipment from diesel technician, mechanical work, or hands-on operation of heavy vehicles.
- Experience in related inspection fields, including auto, home, or insurance inspections.

- Compensation: $15,000 - $75,000 per year (part or full time)

Work Mode
This is a remote role, with inspection work performed on location nationwide. Contractors set their own schedules within daylight hours, Monday through Friday.
