General Motors is hiring a Utility Activation Manager – GM Energy to drive the adoption of utility programs that accelerate electric vehicle sales and energy hardware growth. In this role, you will implement utility program playbooks and demonstrate to utilities that GM dealers can effectively promote and enroll customers.
What You'll Do
- Increase utility program enrollments by developing targeted marketing and customer communication strategies, conducting A/B testing, leveraging customer insights, and prioritizing high-impact outreach channels.
- Drive utility program-attributed GM Energy hardware sales through strategic co-marketing partnerships and by creating enablement resources for dealer and direct sales teams.
- Optimize channel performance by monitoring engagement and conversion metrics, maintaining campaign roadmaps, and implementing data-driven improvements.
- Partner with the Utility team to identify and develop programs that directly accelerate electric vehicle sales, including co-developing reduced-cost EV leasing opportunities.
- Align and optimize utility program information across brand messaging, marketing touchpoints, CRM & mobile applications, and dealership communications.
- Collaborate with GM Energy teams to co-develop customer and internal-facing program materials such as utility program guides and launch enablement kits.
- Organize and socialize lessons learned from utility programs to improve sales and enrollment conversions.
- Proactively influence stakeholders to optimize performance, accountability, and utility program impact aligned with organizational KPIs.
- Define, monitor, and report metrics to establish and ultimately improve program performance.
- Communicate risks, troubleshoot roadblocks, and present solutions to leadership and across various stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years in sales, project or program management, or strategic enablement within energy, utilities, automotive, or electrification sectors.
- Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders including business development, product, engineering, marketing, and dealer and sales teams in the GM ecosystem.
- Deep understanding of dealership operations, motivations and sales processes, including divisional programs and support structures.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and hold partner groups accountable.
- Customer-first mindset, strategic thinker, and results-oriented.
- Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to present to senior leadership and craft compelling narratives.
- This is an execution focused role.
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in business, engineering, marketing, or a related field.
- Familiarity with ESS and/or EV charging software and digital platforms.
- Experience driving participation in utility programs through sales and/or dealer channels.
- Experience with customer-facing enablement content, including dealer toolkits, program guides, and digital adoption campaigns.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and working across global and regional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, innovate and execute sales campaigns and playbooks.
- Prior experience with energy/utility incentive or rebates programs is strongly preferred.
