Solventum is hiring an Upstream Marketing Director, Vascular Access Solutions - Remote

About the Role

Solventum is looking for an Upstream Marketing Director to lead portfolio strategy and new product development for Vascular Access Solutions. You will identify growth opportunities, conduct market assessments, and manage a team of upstream product managers, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation that improves healthcare.

What You'll Do

  • Build and lead the portfolio strategy for your area of responsibility, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Identify opportunities for organic growth (new product development) and inorganic growth (e.g. licensing, M&A) and prioritize them in alignment with strategic goals.
  • Conduct in‐depth market assessments, customer & competitive analyses to evaluate opportunities before allocating resources to NPD projects.
  • Lead evaluations of M&A targets to assess strategic, customer, and business alignment.
  • Manage and develop a team of upstream product managers to execute NPD projects, ensuring that new products meet unmet customer needs and align with the portfolio strategy.
  • Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Finance, and downstream marketing to ensure portfolio and NPD projects are aligned to business goals and deliver value.
  • Bring the external perspective into the organization by cultivating deep customer, market, and competitive insights to guide investment decisions and portfolio priorities.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, in Marketing, Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 10 years of relevant business experience, ideally including medical device, healthcare technologies, or adjacent regulated industries.
  • 7+ years in marketing, product management, or strategy roles with increasing scope and responsibility.
  • 5+ years of experience leading new product development initiatives in the medical device industry—taking projects from concept through launch.
  • 3+ years managing direct reports, including mentoring/developing product or upstream marketing talent.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing portfolio or business strategy, balancing resource constraints and opportunity.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching new products in the medical device segment, from concept through commercialization, with measurable business impact.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate market, customer, and competitive insights into actionable strategies.
  • Cross-functional leadership and influence skills, with experience partnering across R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Operations, and Commercial teams to deliver results.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • Experience in global product markets (i.e. launching or marketing products in multiple geographies / cross‐border regulatory / reimbursement considerations).
  • Prior exposure to highly regulated global environments (e.g. FDA, CE, etc.).
  • Proven track record of delivering product launches on time, on budget, with measurable business impact.

Team & Environment

You will manage and develop a team of upstream product managers.
