Teledyne FLIR Defense, Inc. is hiring an Unmanned Systems Instructor (Remote)

About the Role

Teledyne FLIR Defense, Inc. is seeking a Unmanned Systems Instructor to conduct technical training courses for customers and employees on complex unmanned systems. In this remote role, you will develop course content, prepare lesson plans, and instruct in classroom and lab sessions, providing critical operator-level training and global technical field support.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, maintain, and teach both formal and on-the-job training for customers.
  • Provide technical field support of company products and resolve maintenance and operational issues.
  • Aid customers in troubleshooting procedures for system and network/communications hardware.
  • Provide customer demonstrations and support to the business development team.
  • Interpret technical documents, monitor product performance, and analyze technical data.
  • Provide feedback to engineers for feature requests and product improvement.
  • Collaborate with inter-company organizations to isolate equipment problems.
  • Respond to customer service inquiries, perform basic troubleshooting, and redirect calls.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong interpersonal, training/customer support, and writing skills.
  • Proven ability to perform under stress and multi-task effectively without sacrificing quality.
  • Operational experience with US DoD as an unmanned systems operator.
  • Minimum two (2) years business application experience with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
  • Ability to obtain an FAA Part 107 Certification.
  • Ability to operate independently and interface with all levels of customer organizations.
  • Capable of concise reporting and remote communications.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Wireless Communications.
  • Eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Willing and able to deploy/travel (minimum 75% of the time) domestically and internationally, often on short notice.
  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee, or eligible for the appropriate U.S. export control license.
  • Eligible to be certified under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and legally authorized to work in Canada.

Nice to Have

  • A two-year general business degree or equivalent with 2-3 years related work experience, or 2-3 years of focused experience in a professional service/training role within a medium to high volume hi-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Instructor experience delivering military, commercial, or general aviation curricula.
  • Certified DoD sUAS Master Trainer through a DoD sponsored schoolhouse.
  • Software test or system Validation and Verification experience.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary Range: $70,000.00-$93,300.00

Work Mode

This is a remote position supporting domestic and international locations. The role requires a minimum of 75% travel.
