The University of Vienna is looking for a University Assistant Predoctoral to join the Strategic Management Subject Area within the Department of Business, Economics and Statistics. You will conduct research while enrolling in the department's PhD program, contributing to one of Europe's most internationally visible management research environments.
What You'll Do
- Conduct original research in strategic management with a focus on behavioral aspects of organizational design in innovative environments.
- Assist with administrative tasks for the strategic management subject area.
- Participate in and support teaching activities at all university levels.
- Enroll in and complete the department's PhD program in Management, specializing in Strategic Management.
What We're Looking For
- A completed Master's or Diploma degree, or be very near completion, by the time of application.
- A graduate from a renowned management program (e.g., M.Sc. in Business) or adjacent disciplines like economics, psychology, engineering, or computer sciences.
- Belonging to the best 10% of your graduating class.
- A strong quantitative background.
- Interest in acquiring methodological skills in formal mathematical modelling and/or quantitative empirical testing.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Nice to Have
- Relevant study experience in a native English-speaking environment.
- Prior teaching experience.
- A particular research interest in the field of strategy and organizational design.
Team & Environment
You will join the Strategic Management Subject Area, a team of approximately 10 people from four different nationalities, within the Department of Business, Economics and Statistics.
Benefits & Compensation
- Enrollment in the department's PhD program in Management with a specialization in Strategic Management.
- Potential enrollment in the pan-disciplinary Oskar-Morgenstern-Doctoral-School, providing additional funding for research and interdisciplinary learning.
- Gross monthly salary at the B1 salary group is EUR 3,776.10 for a full-time basis of 40 hours/week. For 30 hours/week, the salary is prorated.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position located in Vienna, Austria.
