About the Role

Review and evaluate loan applications for manufactured housing, verifying income, credit history, and property details to determine borrower eligibility. Analyze financial statements, tax documents, and employment records to assess repayment capacity and overall credit risk.

What You'll Do

  • Calculate and interpret key financial metrics such as loan-to-value and debt-to-income ratios to guide lending decisions
  • Assess property valuations and market trends specific to manufactured homes when determining appropriate loan terms
  • Ensure all underwriting activities align with federal and state regulations, internal policies, and established underwriting standards
  • Collaborate with loan officers and fulfillment teams to resolve documentation gaps and clarify application details
  • Identify potential risks or signs of fraud through detailed financial review and due diligence
  • Prepare clear underwriting summaries with decision rationale, risk considerations, and recommended loan structures
  • Communicate outcomes effectively to internal stakeholders and support consistent decision-making across the lending pipeline
  • Stay current with changes in regulatory requirements, industry practices, and housing market dynamics

Requirements

  • Proven experience in loan underwriting or a related financial assessment role
  • Solid understanding of lending regulations and compliance frameworks, particularly as they apply to manufactured housing
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data, including tax returns, credit reports, and income documentation
  • Experience with loan origination systems, mortgage underwriting platforms, and document management tools
  • Comfort adapting to new technologies and evolving processes in a digital lending environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing loan files and regulatory requirements
  • Skilled in analytical thinking and problem-solving to evaluate creditworthiness and risk exposure
  • Clear communication abilities for explaining decisions and working across teams
  • Self-directed work style with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
  • High ethical standards, with a commitment to confidentiality and data privacy
