Equitable is looking for a Sr. Employee Benefits Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for risk assessment and decision-making on new business opportunities, working closely with our Distribution team to sell new business and maintain existing business while keeping the Company’s financial objectives in mind.
What You'll Do
- Conduct risk assessment and make decisions on new business opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with the Distribution team to sell new business and grow existing business.
- Partner with other departments and vendor partners on underwriting-related issues and best practices.
- Utilize Equitable’s quoting platform and other rating tools to develop manual and experience rates.
- Execute to key KPIs, including pricing strategy targets, sales targets, persistency, and TaT performance.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of Group Employee Benefits Underwriting experience.
- Required experience with Life, STD, LTD, Dental, Vision, Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, or VB products.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant hands-on work experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Established Customer Service skills and experience.
- Proven ability to negotiate.
- A solid work ethic, adaptability, a willingness to learn, and the ability to apply business knowledge.

- Compensation range: $73,000 - $105,000

This is a hybrid position based in Charlotte, NC or New York, NY.
