DS Smith Packaging Limited is seeking a UK Logistics Operations Manager to lead all logistics-related activities for the UK. In this role, you will ensure inbound/outbound operations, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation are executed safely, properly, and cost-effectively, meeting customer expectations. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, spend optimisation, and key processes while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Ensure execution of business and functional strategy to unlock short- and long-term sustainable value.
- Build a robust logistics budget and forecast with Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain teams.
- Oversee, manage, and measure Logistics performance versus prior year, budget, and forecast.
- Work closely with Procurement to ensure effective contracts and identify cost and service opportunities.
- Lead a continuous improvement culture in logistics, conducting workshops to identify efficiency opportunities.
- Drive Group Supply Chain Transformation initiatives and agenda in Logistics across the Sub-Region.
What We're Looking For
- Degree level qualification or equivalent by experience.
- Proven experience in Logistics management, both in transformation and operational roles.
- In-depth understanding of logistics operations, inventory management, and supply chain processes in the UK market.
- Experience managing 3PL/4PL providers.
- Previous experience with key systems such as ERP, TMS, and/or a WMS.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership abilities.
- Fluency in English.
Nice to Have
- Experience ideally within the FMCG sector, within food production or similar industries.
- Another European language is an advantage.
