Ubisoft is looking for a Narrative Designer (F/H/NB) to join a AAA project at our studio in Annecy. As a key member of the creative team, you will be responsible for designing and integrating coherent and immersive narrative experiences within the game, defining how story, gameplay, and systems interact to engage players.
What You'll Do
- Interpret and realize the creative vision of the Directors, translating narrative intentions into playable content.
- Collaborate with Level Designers and Environment Artists to design the game's narrative architecture and develop systems like quests and interactive dialogues.
- Work closely with writers to develop the game's narrative arc and integrate the story seamlessly into gameplay.
- Support the Game Design team by contextualizing game systems and mechanics in coherence with the universe and narrative logic.
- Act as the main point of contact with teams in Montreal to streamline communication and harmonize narrative intentions between studios.
- Design and write all narrative elements, including scripts, environment descriptions, and atmosphere directives.

- Excellent understanding of fundamental game design principles and processes.
- Good understanding of narrative elements across all genres and media.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good knowledge of the game production pipeline.
- Ability to collaborate and respond to feedback professionally and on time.
- Proficiency in English is essential.
- Ability to adapt to development changes.
Team & Environment
You will work closely with game design, level design, script, artistic direction, and production teams.
Work Mode
This role is based in Annecy, France, and follows a hybrid work model.
