Trupanion is looking for a dynamic and highly curious Accountant to join our team. This role is a critical member of our finance department in a rapidly growing public company, focusing on the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analytics. You will work collaboratively to complete monthly close tasks and coordinate cross-functionally across teams and departments.

What You'll Do

Contribute to the monthly close in accordance with US GAAP to meet reporting deadlines and ensure SOX compliance for related areas.
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations in areas such as revenue, claims, and cash.
Work on ad-hoc special projects and analysis, including support for statutory reporting efforts.
Prepare internal and external deliverables for SEC reporting, quarterly reviews, and year-end audits.
Think critically to recommend, implement, and document process improvements that promote efficiency and compliance.

What We're Looking For

BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, equivalent experience accepted.
2-3 years of accounting experience required.
Experienced with GAAP and financial statements, with the ability to understand technical accounting concepts.

Nice to Have

CPA certification preferred.
Experience in a multi-entity environment is a plus.
Month-end close in a fast-paced, evolving business environment and/or public accounting experience.
Advanced knowledge of Excel; Workday experience a plus.
Strong analytical ability and detail orientation.
Desire to creatively problem-solve and innovate processes.

Compensation: $68,000 - $80,000 + equity: Restricted Stock Units granted to all new team members, vesting over 4 years.
