As Treasury Manager, you will play a central role in shaping financial operations across the Africa and MENA regions. Your primary focus will be on optimizing treasury functions, managing foreign exchange flows, and strengthening relationships with financial institutions to support seamless cross-border transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily treasury operations for multiple African markets, ensuring consistent execution and compliance
- Design and implement efficient currency conversion processes from local currencies to USD, minimizing friction and cost
- Execute and adapt the global foreign exchange strategy in alignment with headquarters
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with banks, payment providers, and currency exchange operators across the region
- Collaborate with commercial and country growth teams to structure complex financial arrangements, offering expert insight on liquidity and FX risk
- Engage directly with key merchants to understand needs and deliver tailored treasury solutions
- Identify and deploy innovative financial mechanisms that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance competitive positioning
What You Bring
- At least 8 years of experience in treasury or financial markets, with direct exposure to African economies such as South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, or Egypt
- Proven track record managing FX volatility and liquidity in regulated or constrained currency environments
- Experience negotiating with major financial institutions and liquidity providers in the region
- Ability to lead remote teams and coordinate across time zones and functions
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex financial concepts clearly to commercial and technical stakeholders
- Fluency in Arabic, French, or Portuguese is an advantage
- Background in payments, startup environments, or fintech is preferred
- Familiarity with SQL, Tableau, or PowerBI for data analysis and reporting is beneficial
- Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MBA, CFA) is a plus
