Flock Safety is looking for a Traveling Installation Technician in Louisville, KY. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and surveying our public safety technology equipment in the field. This role involves frequent travel, outdoor work in all conditions, and direct interaction with customers as part of our Field Operations team.

What You'll Do

Install poles of varying lengths per specifications, digging holes.
Mount solar panels on poles and attach external batteries.
Affix license-plate reading cameras with PTZ technology to poles.
Work on public and private roads on equipment up to 30 feet high using bucket trucks and ladders.
Repair minor breaks in underground irrigation or private wiring.
Provide installation pictures via the Flock field app.
Perform administrative tasks like inventory management and receiving shipments.
Meet with customers to discuss installation options and perform site surveys.
Interpret traffic control plans and permit drawings to identify proper installation locations.

What We're Looking For

Frequent/continuous bending, digging, reaching, climbing, squatting, sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
Ability to independently lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable driving a work van like a Ford Transit and occasionally a 1-ton pickup truck (Ram 3500) or towing a small trailer.
Prior use of power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment.
Comfortable working on ladders at high heights.
Good time-management, organization, and communication skills.
Desire to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
General tech knowledge and ability/desire to learn new software and tools.
Basic knowledge of computer skills, Office Suite, Google Suite, and email.
Must be at least 21 years of age to rent a vehicle.
Availability M-F during daylight hours, with overtime expected and required.
Willingness to travel approximately 90%, flying frequently for weeks at a time.

Nice to Have

Prior experience with field work: construction, security systems, low voltage wiring, or similar.
Prior knowledge of operating a bucket truck.
Handyman-like experience, whether personally or professionally.
