About the Role

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS), a family-owned business, is hiring a Traveling Diesel Mechanic to provide expert diagnostics and repair services across multiple states. We need a skilled technician who can accurately identify complex issues and complete high-quality repairs on the first attempt, while working independently in remote locations.

What You'll Do

  • Travel between job sites to inspect, diagnose, and repair medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks, skid steers, and related equipment.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, emissions systems (aftertreatment/DEF systems), transmissions, A/C systems, Hi-Rail gear systems, and spray systems.
  • Utilize scan tools, diagnostic software, multimeters, pressure gauges, and other testing equipment to accurately identify mechanical and electrical failures.
  • Perform routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and preventative services.
  • Complete repairs efficiently through accurate root-cause analysis.
  • Perform fabrication, welding, and cutting as required.
  • Maintain service truck organization, tool inventory, and parts accountability.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate repair updates with management.
  • Ensure full compliance with company safety standards and DOT regulations.
  • Work extended hours as needed and operate effectively in all weather conditions.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with heavy-duty truck repair.
  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and emissions systems (REQUIRED).
  • Strong understanding of aftertreatment systems and diesel emissions components.
  • Proven ability to work independently in remote environments with minimal supervision.
  • Fabrication and welding experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license required; must be able to pass a DOT physical.
  • Willingness to travel 100% frequently across multiple states.
  • Must provide verifiable employment history and hands-on experience.

  • ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
