About the Role

What You'll Do

Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems in autonomous vehicles, including powertrain, braking, suspension, and high-voltage components. Use advanced tools to identify root causes of faults across CAN and LIN networks, power distribution systems, and onboard computing hardware.

Perform precise calibrations of LiDAR, radar, cameras, GPS, IMUs, and perception systems to ensure operational accuracy. Validate sensor performance and alignment to meet safety and functionality standards. Support integration and testing of new hardware and sensor platforms.

Install, configure, and replace compute modules, communication units, wiring harnesses, and networking equipment. Assist engineering teams with software updates, data retrieval, log analysis, and local debugging efforts. Execute test procedures, gather vehicle performance data, and report findings.

Participate in on-road and closed-course AV testing, providing real-time technical support during operations. Respond to field incidents, vehicle recoveries, and urgent technical escalations. Collaborate with remote monitoring teams to resolve live vehicle issues.

Maintain accurate records of all repairs, diagnostics, and calibration activities in fleet management systems. Analyze system trends, suggest improvements, and support continuous optimization. Mentor junior technicians and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in automotive, electric vehicle, robotics, or autonomous vehicle maintenance
  • Proven ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical systems
  • Direct experience with sensor technologies such as LiDAR, radar, and cameras, as well as compute hardware
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software, scan tools, and electrical test equipment
  • Skill in reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work under vehicles in field or shop conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASE Master Technician certification, EV/hybrid credentials, or OEM training
  • Experience with high-voltage systems; HV safety certification is a plus
  • Familiarity with Linux command line and basic scripting for diagnostics
  • Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, advanced driver-assistance systems, or mobility technology
  • Experience in fleet maintenance or fast-paced technical operations

Technical Environment

You'll work with tools including CANalyzer, SavvyCAN, Vehicle Spy, diagnostic software, scan tools, multimeters, wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering documentation, Linux command line, and basic scripting for system analysis.

Work Environment

This is an onsite role based in Orlando. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts depending on operational needs. The position requires physical work, including lifting and working under vehicles.
