About the Role

GE HealthCare is hiring a Travel Technician to provide critical on-site technical leadership and hands-on service for customer-owned utility and industrial facilities. You will be responsible for the installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of complex power delivery equipment.

What You'll Do

  • Provide on-site technical direction, hands-on service, and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Prepare detailed job planning documents that define the scope of work using engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions.
  • Communicate effectively using customers' Critical to Quality needs in planning and execution.
  • Lead skilled labor performing work on customer sites.
  • Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on a wide range of equipment including power transformers, switchgear, protection relays, control systems, turbines, motors, and generators.
  • Diagnose electromechanical operations and maintenance problems in the Power Delivery field.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, preparing job status reports, and managing time and expense sheets.
  • Exercise good judgment to control costs and expenditures.
  • Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure all work meets technical requirements within GE safety standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Appropriately qualified Electrical Fitter with proven HV experience or Electrical Technician / Technologist or Electrician with proven HV experience.
  • Familiar with test equipment and testing procedures.
  • Computer literate.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent English speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Nice to Have

  • Proven experience in leading a field service team.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel; flexibility required.
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Access.
  • Basic Workplace First Aid certification.

  • Compensation: $35.64 – $43.72 per hour.
