Canonical is hiring a Travel Operations Specialist

As a Travel Operations Specialist, you'll play a key role in enabling smooth and efficient global travel for team members and visitors attending company gatherings and industry events. Working within the Business Services team, you'll ensure travel runs effectively, from planning through to resolution of any disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to travel-related inquiries and resolve issues promptly, providing clear and helpful support
  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate travel logistics for company and external events
  • Maintain strong relationships with travel suppliers and ensure service levels meet expectations
  • Review travel invoices for accuracy, manage refunds, credits, and ensure timely payments
  • Monitor travel spending, carbon emissions, and adherence to company policies
  • Track unused tickets, airline credits, and loyalty points to maximize value

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong academic background with a degree in business, technology, or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Personal accountability and a thoughtful, organized approach to work
  • Adaptability and quick learning, especially with new software and systems
  • Willingness to travel up to four times per year for events lasting up to two weeks

Work Environment

This is a fully remote, globally distributed role, with team members based around the world. Occasional in-person meetings occur twice a year, and roles may be based remotely unless local regulations require office presence in certain cities.
