LVT is looking for a Transport Planner to join our Madrid team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience preparing transport planning studies for a diverse portfolio of projects. You will evaluate transport alternatives, build transport models, and analyze system changes aimed at improving transport networks.
What You'll Do
- Participate in transport strategies and studies, evaluating transport alternatives, mobility plans, and traffic studies.
- Collaborate in the construction and application of transport models covering data collection, network coding, demand analysis, calibration, validation, and forecasting.
- Use transport analysis software to assess system changes and build narratives explaining their impact on people and systems.
- Analyze national and international best practices to identify innovative and applicable solutions.
- Undertake analysis to support the preparation of presentations and reports for transport studies and traffic modelling work.
- Work proactively as part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team, demonstrating initiative, responsibility, and excellent customer and communication skills.
- Be self-motivated, eager to learn, and ready to take on new challenges.
What We're Looking For
- A degree or Master's in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in traffic modelling, transport, or pedestrian planning.
- Advanced use of the Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Fluent written and spoken skills in Spanish and English (C1 level).
- A strong desire to improve transport systems and a willingness to learn new software.
- Numerical and analytical inclination with good computer skills.
- Ability to communicate analysis and modelling results verbally and in writing, including experience presenting to clients.
- A good team worker with flexibility to support the bigger picture.
Nice to Have
- GIS knowledge: ArcGIS, QGIS.
- Traffic modelling software experience: VISSIM, VISUM, Aimsun, or similar.
- Programming skills: Python, R.
- Knowledge of pedestrian modelling software: Legion, MassMotion, Pathfinder, or similar.
- Knowledge of CAD, Rhinoceros, and communication tools: InDesign, Illustrator.
