About the Role
This position involves working on civil engineering aspects of transmission and distribution systems, including structural design, permitting support, and project coordination for utility clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop engineering designs for overhead and underground electrical infrastructure
- Perform structural analysis of poles, foundations, and support structures
- Prepare construction drawings and technical specifications
- Review site conditions and survey data for design accuracy
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project deliverables
- Support permitting and regulatory compliance efforts
- Conduct field investigations and provide technical recommendations
- Coordinate with utility clients and stakeholders
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards
- Assist in the development of project scopes and budgets
- Review contractor submittals and construction progress
- Utilize engineering software for modeling and analysis
- Prepare calculations for load, stress, and deflection
- Participate in project planning and scheduling
- Maintain quality control in engineering documentation
- Support environmental and safety reviews
- Respond to client inquiries and requests for information
- Assist in construction administration
- Stay current with industry practices and standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes
