Transdev is looking for an Operations Supervisor to manage and oversee the operations of a business unit, acting as the key liaison between the Client’s program managers and Transdev employees. This role plays an important part in enabling our client to achieve its goal of developing and commercializing autonomous driving technology.
What You'll Do
- Maintain Transdev’s high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicle, operating with safety as the primary goal.
- Act as the deputy for technology by communicating courteously always with management, engineers, and the public.
- Respond to system emergencies; investigate and complete accident reports, incidents, and customer complaints.
- Manage the public and customer-facing leadership of the hourly workforce.
- Perform field work and on-the-road operations to dispatch, respond, and troubleshoot.
- Conduct strategic planning and forecasting to meet client demands.
- Manage remote workforce, scheduling, and staffing to meet client requirements.
- Translate TAS and client deliverables, KPI, and metrics to daily performance in a results-driven manner.
- Assist team members with payroll, interpersonal issues, and career development.
- Communicate announcements to the team and lead debriefs with safety messages at the forefront.
- Support the Client’s operations leadership team in daily dispatch management, mission assignment, meetings, and stakeholder communication.
- Coordinate, monitor, and supervise the activities of subordinates.
- Ensure compliance with global process standards and work on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Respond to service problems and investigate unsafe location/situation reports.
- Develop and schedule the program work plan in conjunction with the Client’s staff.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality for all information.
- Apply policies, procedures, and standards, taking personal responsibility for the safety of self and others.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficiency with using a touchscreen smartphone (Android preferred but not required).
- Ability to use a computer to generate reports and schedules.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret system operating rules, regulations, policies, phases, and routes.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to organize and perform work efficiently with strong attention to detail.
- An awareness and willingness to use Operational Excellence tools and techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively to a large group of drivers.
- Experience with performance metrics and process improvement.
- Ability to work for different managers.
- A proven track record of meeting or exceeding department performance goals.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends with a flexible shift if needed.
- Must be eager, a self-starter, and demonstrate good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
- Punctual, reliable, and a team player.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Available to be on call and responsive for 24/7 operations.
- Must be 21 years old.
- All Transdev employees must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Ability to qualify for an Autonomous Vehicle Tester (AVT) license where required.
- If based in the United States, applicants must be eligible to work in the US without restrictions for any employer at any time.
Nice to Have
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is preferred, or 2 or more years of Operations experience in leading teams.
- A degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field is preferred.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $70,720 – $83,200 annually.
- Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks.
