AECOM is hiring a Traffic / ITS Engineer – REMOTE

About the Role

AECOM is looking for a Traffic / ITS Engineer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will support many different offices across the Greater Midwest and Greater Southwest, delivering impactful work that shapes communities on high-profile projects.

What You'll Do

  • Support a team delivering traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, simulation, and conceptual planning.
  • Produce plan sheets, specifications & estimates, technical memoranda, reports, and presentations.
  • Support ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process.
  • Serve in various roles on traffic/ITS projects and produce technical deliverables.
  • Work with Early in Career staff, reviewing technical work and documentation.
  • Deliver tasks on schedule and budget while adhering to quality standards.
  • Coordinate directly with other discipline groups, external clients, and sub-consultants.
  • Perform work according to agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently perform all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements.
  • Coordinate with Business Development leaders to capture project opportunities.

What We're Looking For

  • BA/BS and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) or Professional Traffic Operations Engineering (PTOE) License.

Nice to Have

  • Minimum 7 years of experience with an emphasis in traffic control design, traffic studies, ITS engineering, or staging.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using Traffic and Traffic Simulation Software and design platforms.
  • Ability to work as a team member or independently as required.
  • Good interpersonal skills, time management, and a positive attitude towards work.

Work Mode

This is a remote position supporting offices in Wisconsin, Montana, Wyoming, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio, New Mexico, and Idaho.
