RF Group / RF Merchant Bank & Trust (Barbados) Limited is looking for a Trader to execute securities transactions on behalf of our clients. You will ensure timely and efficient trade execution in accordance with market regulations and the Group’s investment strategies, while providing support to optimize portfolio performances.
What You'll Do
- Facilitate execution of all trading across ALL asset classes and jurisdictions.
- Engage with RF designated counterparties to maintain trading and custody relationships for the Bank.
- Use the Bloomberg terminal and other third-party platforms for the facilitation of duties.
- Provide support to front office through distribution of potential available-for-purchase/sale investments.
- Proactively identify internal cross-selling opportunities.
- Provide centralized treasury support to RF Group ensuring that accounts are accurate, investment opportunities are taken advantage of, and liquidity needs are met.
- Maintain foreign currency related records and reports as needed.
- Correspond with RF personnel as required to meet both departmental and inter-departmental objectives and goals.
- Collaborate with team members to strategize and implement effective trading and departmental strategies.
- Distribute market material to external and internal parties as deemed necessary.
- Maintain and update internal trading statistics and reports.
- Keep abreast of market trends, economic indicators and relevant financial news.
- Attend publicly traded company meetings, investment events and forums as deemed necessary.
- Provide back-up oversight of the department, assisting the Manager as needed.
- Support the training and development of junior team members.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ industry experience.
- Series 7, Canadian Securities Course or CFA Level 1 certification.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to simultaneously manage the administration of multiple tasks.
- Ability to work in a self-motivated environment with little supervision.
- Excellent numeracy and communications skills (verbal and written).
- Proficient in Bloomberg.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
