About the Role

The specialist will help maintain compliance with global trade laws, streamline customs processes, and support the organization's international business activities through accurate recordkeeping and procedural oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor changes in international trade regulations and advise internal teams on compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and review export and import documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with logistics and supply chain departments to ensure timely customs clearance.
  • Maintain records in alignment with regulatory audit standards.
  • Support classification of goods under appropriate tariff codes.
  • Assist in responses to government inquiries or audits related to trade activities.
  • Ensure proper licensing and permits are obtained for restricted shipments.
  • Evaluate trade compliance risks associated with new markets or products.
  • Conduct internal reviews to verify adherence to export control laws.
  • Train relevant staff on compliance procedures and regulatory updates.
  • Coordinate with external partners such as customs brokers and freight forwarders.
  • Track shipments subject to special regulatory scrutiny.
  • Update compliance databases with current trade data and policy changes.
  • Implement procedures to meet U.S. and international export controls.
  • Provide input on the impact of trade compliance on new business initiatives.
