About the Role
The specialist will help maintain compliance with global trade laws, streamline customs processes, and support the organization's international business activities through accurate recordkeeping and procedural oversight.
Responsibilities
- Monitor changes in international trade regulations and advise internal teams on compliance requirements.
- Prepare and review export and import documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with logistics and supply chain departments to ensure timely customs clearance.
- Maintain records in alignment with regulatory audit standards.
- Support classification of goods under appropriate tariff codes.
- Assist in responses to government inquiries or audits related to trade activities.
- Ensure proper licensing and permits are obtained for restricted shipments.
- Evaluate trade compliance risks associated with new markets or products.
- Conduct internal reviews to verify adherence to export control laws.
- Train relevant staff on compliance procedures and regulatory updates.
- Coordinate with external partners such as customs brokers and freight forwarders.
- Track shipments subject to special regulatory scrutiny.
- Update compliance databases with current trade data and policy changes.
- Implement procedures to meet U.S. and international export controls.
- Provide input on the impact of trade compliance on new business initiatives.
