Alstom is hiring a Trade Compliance Analyst

About the Role

Alstom is hiring a Trade Compliance Analyst to safeguard our global supply chain operations. In this role, you will ensure compliance with critical trade regulations, including Section 232 (Steel/Aluminum), USMCA and other Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and the UFLPA. You'll be responsible for supplier engagement, documentation validation, and master data management, supporting our commitment to seamless and lawful international trade.

What You'll Do

  • Request and validate melt/pour countries, steel/aluminum value, weight, and mill certificates for imported parts.
  • Update part-level 232 master data and maintain audit-ready documentation.
  • Support proactive and retrospective data collection for high-value or CBP-sensitive shipments.
  • Request, validate, and archive certificates of origin for USMCA and other applicable FTAs.
  • Coach suppliers on origin-qualification rules and documentation standards.
  • Track expiries, missing documentation, and supplier coverage.
  • Collect and validate chain-of-custody documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, payment records, company profiles, and production records.
  • Build and maintain product passports in Altana with suppliers.
  • Perform documentation quality checks during CBP detentions and identify high-risk suppliers or materials.
  • Populate HTS classification, country of origin, and customs attributes for approximately 4,000–5,000 imported materials.
  • Onboard suppliers into Altana and manage master-data workflows, closing gaps using Altana validation tools.
  • Drive structured follow-ups for 232, UFLPA, and FTA documentation.
  • Maintain weekly supplier-response trackers, aging dashboards, and risk-flagging.
  • Prepare complete detention cases with checklists and gap-remediation actions.

What We're Looking For

  • Working knowledge of trade compliance, import/export control, and customs processes (US/Canada focus an advantage).
  • Experience with HTS classification, origin determination, and customs valuation; comfortable auditing documentation.
  • ERP proficiency: SAP/GTS; strong Excel/BI skills.
  • Proven supplier engagement for data and document collection.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for day-to-day supplier interaction.
  • Detail-oriented with disciplined follow-up; structured and analytical.
  • Comfortable working across time zones with cross-regional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, International Business, or a related field.

Nice to Have

  • 3–6 years of trade-compliance or import/export operations experience.

Technical Stack

  • SAP/GTS
  • Excel/BI
  • Altana
