Ford is hiring a Timing Lead to ensure seamless coordination across our product development programs. In this role, you will lead timing alignment for program teams and act as the key subject matter expert for the GPDS Body Exteriors process, driving approvals and integrating solutions across the enterprise.
What You'll Do
- Lead Program Team Timing Alignment Meetings and coach vehicle program teams on developing robust timing plans.
- Work across the organization to ensure timing plan papers are ready for discussion and approval.
- Manage timing alignment meetings, filings, and program scale and VPP approvals.
- Act as the GPDS Body Exteriors Process SME, ensuring process, deliverables, and timing are properly represented in each GPDS release.
- Support GPDS releases by developing documentation like pocket cards, release announcements, and quality of event criteria.
- Own GPDS Timing and P-Release Deliverables, managing 4 Global Product Development timing SharePoint sites.
- Lead projects to improve GPDS timing and capability, and participate in Global GPDS meetings.
- Support program teams by communicating kickoff dates and coaching on GPDS execution to meet Engineering Gateways.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree.
- In-depth understanding of GPDS concepts, logic, milestones, gateways, and process sheet structure.
- 5+ years of experience in Engineering (Body Exteriors preferred) or a related product area.
- User-level working knowledge of Integrator.
- Data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience preparing and presenting strategy papers to VP+ executives.
- Strong knowledge of Program Management principles, especially project/program timing.
- Strong organizational skills for accurate history and record keeping.
Nice to Have
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
- Experience in Program Management within an automotive environment.
- Experience in design release supporting the full product development cycle.
- Strategic mindset to develop solutions that integrate with GPDS and support enterprise-wide objectives.
- Ability to influence without authority across functional areas and program teams.
