Responsibilities
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Follow written and verbal instructions accurately after ensuring full understanding.
- Read and interpret documents, work instructions, and drawings.
- Complete AWS D17.1 aerospace endorsement certification and company weld department OJT requirements.
- Perform welding, weld prep, and finishing (primarily TIG) under a skilled welder or trainer initially.
- Work independently on these tasks after demonstrating proficiency through testing.
- Inspect completed work for quality and completeness.
- Understand and meet weld quality standards.
- Perform Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) on parts.
- Torch braze tubes and connectors.
- Operate automated TIG welding equipment.
- Use pneumatic hand grinders and other powered bench tools for metal preparation and finishing.
- Utilize weld fixtures, chill blocks, gas backups, pre-heat methods, and related equipment.
- Perform local heat treat and stress relief on weld repair areas.
- Assemble and fit parts such as flanges to cases, cut and fit patches, or assemble tubes and fittings.
- Conduct non-certified welding for shop maintenance, building installation, or tooling and fixturing.

- Shift: 2nd shift, Monday to Friday.
- Work environment: Pass a vision test and fitness-for-duty test. Follow general shop safety procedures including occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection. Stand and/or sit for portions of the shift. Move parts over 50 pounds using hoists, slings, carts, or other methods. Move parts under 50 pounds with or without such equipment. Occasionally use powered and hand-held tools.
