About the Role

At Convera, we’re looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to join our team in Brisbane. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales of complex products, hedging solutions, and Foreign Exchange (FX) services to our corporate client base. You will build a pipeline, achieve revenue targets, and manage the sales cycle from prospecting through to client onboarding.

What You'll Do

  • Build a pipeline of Corporate clients, including import/export companies, multinationals, universities, and NGOs, to achieve new business revenue targets.
  • Achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as revenue targets and report on them weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities through cold calls, networking events, referrals, exhibitions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Use sales tools like Salesforce, Highspot, and ZoomInfo to generate leads and identify new sales opportunities.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle up to client onboarding, before transitioning the relationship to the client account management team.
  • Introduce relevant internal support functions to clients, including CRM teams, Corporate Hedging Managers, and Sales Leaders.
  • Influence and build relationships with a wide range of client stakeholders, from start-up owners to directors and C-suite executives.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all relevant sales activities and prospect interactions in Salesforce records.
  • Perform market analysis and attend industry events to stay informed and identify opportunities.

What We're Looking For

  • 2-5+ years of experience in the financial services sector, with specific knowledge in FX (understanding of financial markets and instruments like SPOT, FWDS, Derivatives) or payments.
  • Proven B2B sales experience.
  • Experience in consultative selling, corporate negotiations, and customer acquisition through methods like networking events, trade fairs, and cold calling.
  • Strong understanding of bulk payment processing, international payments, accounting systems, and platform integration.
  • Financially astute with a proven ability to achieve or exceed KPIs and revenue targets.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written.
  • Foreign Exchange (FX) knowledge is essential, particularly related to payments, risk management, and/or hedging solutions.
