Role Overview
This position is designed for individuals seeking a career in technical service within the diagnostics industry. As a Field Service Technician, you'll begin an immersive training program that prepares you for a permanent role as a Service Engineer. The program includes travel across the United States for mentorship and on-the-job learning, with the goal of transitioning into a full-time service position within a designated district.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all required training to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced diagnostic systems
- Travel up to 50% during training, supporting service teams and shadowing experienced engineers
- Conduct site surveys, perform installations, and carry out scheduled and emergency maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in alignment with company standards
- Document all service activities accurately, including parts usage, service orders, and expense reporting
- Respond promptly to system alerts and maintain communication readiness during scheduled hours
- Follow Technical Service Bulletins and Engineering Change Requests to implement system updates
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure complete resolution of customer technical concerns
- Maintain inventory of parts and company equipment
- Uphold professional standards that reinforce customer trust and satisfaction
Qualifications
A technical background is essential. Candidates should hold an associate’s degree or have 0–3 years of experience in biomedical engineering, electronics, or clinical laboratory science—including military training. A valid driver’s license must be obtained within 90 days of hire, and relocation to any U.S. service district is required. Strong communication skills are critical, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences. Applicants must also meet healthcare facility credentialing standards, including vaccination requirements.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS), and proficiency in Spanish, French, or Portuguese.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role with initial training involving significant travel across the U.S. Technicians must be prepared to relocate upon completion of the program. The work demands consistent performance under pressure, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a positive, energetic approach in dynamic customer environments.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly pay ranges from $20.60 to $32.37, with overtime compensation. Additional offerings include a performance-based annual bonus, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), paid time off, parental and bereavement leave, and a 401(k) plan. Relocation support is available for qualifying moves.
