What You'll Do
Configure and calibrate field-installed and factory-mounted devices, ensuring precise system operation. Develop and program site-specific databases while following engineering checkout procedures to validate performance. Diagnose and resolve issues in building automation systems using remote tools or on-site evaluations, and troubleshoot communication links and local networks as needed.
Support subcontractors with technical expertise during installation phases and assist in verifying system functionality. Maintain thorough project records to support as-built documentation and ensure all databases are securely backed up upon job completion. Provide remote access details to centralized service teams and deliver on-site training sessions for clients to ensure smooth system adoption.
Act as a primary point of contact for customers, fostering long-term relationships through responsive and professional communication. Address inquiries and concerns promptly, escalating issues when necessary. Follow all safety protocols, use proper personal protective equipment, and report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately. Participate in ongoing training and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
Requirements
Associate's degree or equivalent technical training in HVAC, Computer Science, or a related field, plus three years of hands-on experience. Proficiency with Microsoft software and strong understanding of industry-standard communication protocols including BACnet, LonTalk, and Modbus. Familiarity with Ethernet, TCP-IP, and IP networking infrastructure is essential. Must hold a valid driver’s license, Universal EPA certification, and be able to pass a drug screening. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to interpret technical diagrams, perform basic mathematical calculations, and communicate effectively in person and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Trane, Tridium, or Teletrol systems is highly valued. Background with other major control platforms such as Johnson Controls, Schneider, Honeywell, Siemens, or Distech is also beneficial.
