Kustomer is hiring a Technical Writer

About the Role

Kustomer is looking for a Technical Writer to lead the development of clear, comprehensive documentation for the Kustomer platform. In this role, you will be responsible for enriching the support knowledge base, owning communication about new product releases, and optimizing content to drive impact through the strategic use of AI.

What You'll Do

  • Create content for Kustomer’s support center and developer documentation.
  • Identify areas of opportunity for improving adoption of self-help through improved documentation.
  • Work with Product, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Engineering teams to ensure content completeness and accuracy.
  • Build parts of the Kustomer user guides for existing and new features of the product.
  • Provide data driven information to product teams about feature complexity and user confusion.
  • Review and edit all user instruction text and error messages in the product.
  • Drive innovation in technical writing by rethinking documentation workflows and content creation processes through the strategic use of AI tools and automation.

What We're Looking For

  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Experience developing end-user documentation for web-based applications.
  • Working knowledge of standard web technologies (HTML, CSS) and Javascript.
  • Capable of using code repositories and command-line interfaces to review source code, extract relevant information, and document APIs effectively.
  • Demonstrated success in self-managing writing projects.
  • Experienced at writing content that is easily translatable into other languages.
  • Comfortable using AI to optimize efficiency as a technical writer.

Nice to Have

  • Direct experience in the CRM/startup space.
