Compose.ly is hiring a Technical Writer – User Guides & Knowledge Base to develop a comprehensive, user-focused documentation suite for enterprise media software. Your core responsibility will be to build a polished user guide and dynamic knowledge base, driven by approximately 80 user journey workflows, directly supporting an upcoming major client launch and product rollout.
What You'll Do
- Translate documented user journeys into clear, step-by-step user guides.
- Write and maintain knowledge base articles, release notes, and training materials.
- Incorporate textual instructions and visual elements like screenshots and annotations.
- Format content for an HTML-based support portal, including printer-friendly versions.
- Proactively suggest improvements or identify gaps in the documentation.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to gather context and clarify functionality.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a technical writer, particularly with enterprise software or user-facing documentation.
- Strong ability to convert complex processes into user-friendly documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and initiative.
- Demonstrated skill creating combined text and visuals in documentation.
- Comfortable working independently under tight timelines and managing iterative deliverables.
Nice to Have
- Experience with media technology platforms, enterprise SaaS, or performance/financial tools.
- Familiarity with support portals, knowledge base systems, or chatbot-assisted documentation.
- Experience structuring content for layered documentation, such as user guides versus modular knowledge base articles.
