Okta is seeking a Technical Writer to create and deliver developer-centered technical content for our developer portal. You'll work closely with engineers, product managers, and developer success professionals to produce practical content that guides developers in adopting Okta's identity and access management solutions.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, edit, and deliver accurate and effective developer documentation for Okta products.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, QA, Support, and the Information Development team to ensure content quality and accuracy.
- Follow documentation guidelines to produce high quality documentation.
- Prioritize projects when working with multiple engineering teams.
- Collaborate with developers to review API documentation.
- Analyze customer feedback before and after delivering documentation to enhance content depth, quality, and relevance.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 4 years relevant experience writing documentation for Cloud or Enterprise products.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience writing SDK, CLI, or developer tools documentation.
- Experience writing developer documentation and release notes.
- Experience with Markdown, Visual Studio Code, Acrolinx, and source control tools such as Git and GitHub.
- Familiarity working with Jira and Confluence.
- Collaboration skills with other writers.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Technical Writing.
- Strong ability to understand the application of security products in the real world and produce use case-based content.
- Knowledge of Okta or similar identity and access management solutions.
- Experience with DITA, OpenAPI, and Redocly.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
