vCluster Labs is hiring a Senior Technical Writer to architect the product's 'Golden Path' by building an intuitive documentation experience. You will own the entire documentation ecosystem, implementing a scalable content strategy and ensuring a seamless onboarding journey for our users.
What You'll Do
- Own the cohesive and high-impact documentation ecosystem, operating as the 'Product Manager' for docs.
- Implement structures like the Diátaxis framework to organize conceptual guides, tutorials, how-tos, and reference material.
- Lead the consolidation of onboarding journeys into a singular, high-velocity 'Golden Path' for first cluster deployment.
- Partner with DevRel, Engineering, and Product to build feedback loops, documentation testing, and internal contribution guidelines.
- Manage the lifecycle of versioned, open-source, and platform documentation with a 'value over volume' mentality.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in Technical Writing or Developer Documentation.
- Deep, hands-on experience with Kubernetes environments and complex infrastructure like networking and API gateways.
- Cognitive flexibility: willingness to abandon legacy documentation habits based on data-driven evidence.
- Strategic thinking to anticipate user friction and identify architectural challenges with innovative content solutions.
Nice to Have
- Analytical prowess: background in using documentation analytics and user feedback to track metrics like 'Time to Hello World'.
- Experience bridging the gap between open-source community docs and commercial enterprise platforms.
