About the Role

The candidate will bridge technical satellite operations with policy frameworks, ensuring compliance and advocating for favorable regulatory outcomes through data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze international and domestic satellite regulations and spectrum policies
  • Translate technical satellite system capabilities into policy positions
  • Support regulatory filings with accurate technical data
  • Engage with government agencies on spectrum allocation matters
  • Monitor evolving space policy developments globally
  • Prepare briefings for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand system design implications
  • Assess policy impacts on satellite constellation deployment
  • Develop positions on regulatory proposals affecting satellite operations
  • Represent the company in industry working groups and technical forums
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ITU procedures and outcomes
  • Evaluate licensing requirements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Identify potential regulatory risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Draft responses to policy consultations and rulemaking notices
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams on regulatory strategy
  • Support spectrum coordination efforts with other operators
  • Interpret orbital slot and frequency assignment rules
  • Advocate for policies enabling low-latency global connectivity
  • Ensure alignment between technical performance and regulatory commitments
  • Contribute to long-term regulatory planning for future satellite systems

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree in engineering, public policy, or law
  • Direct experience with commercial satellite constellation operations
  • Knowledge of licensing processes in multiple countries
  • Experience in testifying before regulatory agencies
  • Understanding of small satellite technology trends
  • Familiarity with national security space policies
  • Experience in cross-border regulatory negotiations
  • Published work in satellite policy or technical journals
  • Professional certification in project management or regulatory compliance
  • Language skills beyond English
