About the Role

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain Excel-based tools using advanced formulas, PivotTables, and Power Query to streamline data workflows, financial modeling, and reporting.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and data models supporting claims repricing, rebate projections, financial forecasting, and performance benchmarking.
  • Aggregate, normalize, and analyze pharmacy claims data from multiple PBM pricing products (e.g., CVS, Optum, Express Scripts), ensuring financial accuracy and consistency.
  • Create dynamic, template-driven analytical frameworks to standardize outputs across varying account structures, pricing products, and contract terms.
  • Support Project Prism through data verification, validation of pricing logic, troubleshooting discrepancies, and collaboration with database teams.
  • Support analysis and modeling efforts for PBM RFP negotiations, including financial comparisons, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Develop and support preliminary disruption analysis tools, including validation and distribution of member-level and account-level reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support rebate forecasting, contract modeling, and broader business strategy initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to data access, file locking, macro errors, query performance, and compilation issues across analytical environments.
  • Maintain version control and documentation for reusable SQL queries, Excel templates, and analytical frameworks.
  • Design and implement quality control checks to ensure financial integrity and data accuracy throughout multi-step transformation pipelines.
  • Support high-priority ad-hoc analyses for internal leadership and external partners under compressed timelines.
  • Focus on PBM pricing list management, ensuring all lists are accurate and up to date, with ability to analyze list changes and report significant financial or structural differences between versions.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Public Health, Statistics, Finance, or a related analytical field.
  • 5+ years of progressive data analytics experience, preferably within PBM, pharmacy, or healthcare environments.
  • Strong SQL proficiency, including complex joins, aggregations, window functions, performance optimization, and prevention of row multiplication errors.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and structured aggregations, Power Query data transformation, and advanced formulas (INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, array logic, financial modeling functions).
  • Experience working with large healthcare claims datasets and multi-step financial modeling pipelines.
  • Experience building dashboards and analytical reporting using Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated attention to financial accuracy and detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into business insights.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced VBA scripting and Excel automation.
  • Experience with SAS, including macro development and data step processing.
  • Experience with Python for data processing, automation, or analytical support.
  • Deep expertise in pharmacy claims data and PBM contract structures (rebates, tiers, guarantees, channel logic, AWP/WAC dynamics).
  • Experience supporting RFP financial modeling and multi-year pricing comparisons.
  • Experience with Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms.
  • Experience using Jira or similar ticket management systems to manage analytical workflows.
