Dandy is looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our rapidly expanding Automation Team. In this highly visible role, you will be instrumental in innovating, developing, and deploying automated systems to achieve ambitious quality standards in the dental industry.
What You'll Do
- Drive the technical, operational, and lifecycle management of manufacturing automation initiatives.
- Innovate factory processes, concepts, and designs to enable ideal automated manufacturing.
- Work closely with factory teams to create and achieve OKRs for automation and continuous improvement.
- Draft requirements documents and develop concepts for the automated manufacturing process.
- Create RFQ/RFPs documenting design requirements, delivery schedules, and acceptance criteria.
- Engage with vendors to construct machines that align with Dandy's specifications and standards.
- Ensure vendor conformance to Dandy’s ARS specs and approve vendor processes and equipment design.
- Design and execute FAT, SAT, and commissioning of automation equipment into our factories.
- Lead the integration of newly built machines, working alongside engineers and manufacturing teams.
- Supervise and report OEE, Yield, and other manufacturing metrics to drive improvement programs.
- Provide routine status reporting to executives and escalate issues as needed.
- Set bold targets and drive plans to achieve them.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in Advanced Manufacturing and high-speed custom automation, including Automation Engineering, Process Engineering, and Technical Program Management.
- Experience translating NPI requirements to large-scale custom automation solutions.
- Strong background in prioritizing tasks for AMEs and Suppliers from Conceptual Design through SAT and Production Team Training.
- Experience managing high-budget projects and tracking spend with external vendors.
- Demonstrated experience in Value Engineering, contract engagement, managing NRE, and the RFQ to PO issuance process.
- Strong technical skills in problem-solving and root cause analysis in high-pressure environments.
- Ability to run automation programs with minimum supervision.
- Interpersonal skills including leadership, project management, communication, collaboration, influencing, and negotiation.
- In-depth understanding of process and assembly automation pertaining to equipment validation through FAT/SAT.
- Capability to summarize and articulate technical updates into executive-level presentations.
- A constant partner to cross-functional teams across Dandy, its equipment suppliers, and technical consultants.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 30%.
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or an allied technical subject.
Nice to Have
- Strong professional references showcasing successful past projects.
- Experience with ceramics, CNC machining, spray applications, or inkjet printing.
- Experience with plastics, 3D printing, thermoforming, or injection molding.
- Experience with technical writing of machine user requirement specifications.
- Experience with Contract engagement and negotiation of CapEx.
- Experience in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment (ISO 13485, Change Control, IQ, OQ, PQ Equipment Validation).
