HITACHI ENERGY CHILE S.A. is hiring a Technical Presales Specialist

This role is central to bridging technology and customer needs within the Grid Automation space. As a Technical Presales Specialist, you will collaborate with sales, engineering, and client teams to identify technical challenges and develop customized solutions that meet the evolving demands of power systems across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside sales and engineering to assess customer requirements and define effective Grid and Substation Automation solutions.
  • Deliver clear, engaging technical presentations and workshops that highlight the value and differentiation of proposed systems.
  • Design solution architectures and develop detailed technical proposals in line with customer specifications and internal standards.
  • Act as a technical authority during the sales process, responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and supporting deal progression.
  • Support proof-of-concept initiatives and pilot deployments to demonstrate technical viability and customer impact.
  • Gather market insights and customer feedback to inform product development and innovation efforts.
  • Stay current with industry trends, including advancements in renewable energy integration and digital grid technologies.
  • Develop sales tools, technical documentation, and training materials to strengthen internal and external understanding of solutions.
  • Foster lasting relationships with technical and executive-level stakeholders at utility and industrial organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of five years in technical presales, solutions architecture, or field application engineering within energy, power systems, or industrial automation.
  • Strong grasp of SCADA, grid infrastructure, and power system operations.
  • Proven ability to convert business needs into technical designs through clear written and verbal communication.
  • Experience creating proposals, solution designs, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe, up to 20% of the time.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first mindset.

Preferred Background

  • Experience with renewable energy systems, substation automation, or offshore wind projects is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in additional European languages is an asset.
