Bizee is seeking a Technical Lead to own one of our core engineering domains and drive delivery for a dedicated squad. In this building-role, you will spend 60%+ of your time writing production code and reviewing PRs while leading 4-6 engineers responsible for product or platform outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Lead a squad of 4-6 engineers responsible for a core engineering domain (product or platform).
- Spend 60%+ of your time writing production code and reviewing PRs.
- Own the technical roadmap for your domain and deliver at least 1 major modernization initiative.
- Ship AI-powered features, intelligent automation, or reusable platform capabilities into production.
- Establish automated testing standards with meaningful coverage improvements.
- Ensure 100% of your squad actively uses AI tools in daily workflows.
- Create documented growth plans for each engineer on your squad.
- Participate in solution design reviews and ensure your squad's work creates clean interfaces for other squads.
What We're Looking For
- Use AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) daily and can demonstrate measurable productivity gains.
- Have shipped AI-powered features or products in production.
- Write production code every week.
- Comfortable across backend and frontend (full-stack capability).
- Have led a team of 3-6 engineers.
- Track record of shipping on time without sacrificing quality.
- Think in terms of customer and business impact, not just technical tasks.
Nice to Have
- Experience at a growth-stage company ($50M to $500M) with similar transformation challenges.
- Background in e-commerce, legal tech, fintech, or compliance-heavy industries.
- Experience working in the Prosumer or SMB space.
- For platform candidates: experience building shared services, APIs, or developer platforms that product teams consume at scale.
Team & Environment
You will lead a squad of 4-6 engineers and report to an Engineering Manager. You'll work closely with a Product Manager (for product squads), a Principal Engineer, and peer Technical Leads.
