Awaed is hiring a Tech Lead or Senior Backend Engineer to build a new high-performance, modular, and scalable trading infrastructure. You will architect systems capable of handling hundreds of concurrent transactions and help scale the platform into 2025 and beyond.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and development of high performance trading systems, ensuring robust architecture and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and enhance existing functionalities.
- Mentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
- Conduct performance analysis and optimization to ensure low-latency and high-throughput trading operations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years (Tech Lead) or 3+ years (Senior Developer) of backend system development.
- Proven experience in high-performance trading systems or real-time financial applications.
- Strong command of system architecture, API design, and data handling under load.
- Passion for clean code — ideally with personal GitHub projects or side work to show.
- Comfortable working independently and in startup environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with OMS (Order Management Systems) and EOD (End-of-Day) settlement systems.
- Background in fintech, brokerages, or building mobile trading platforms.
- Familiarity with microservices, distributed systems, or event-driven architecture.
- Experience mentoring or managing small engineering teams (for Tech Lead).

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary: $97,000 to $120,000 per year.
- Equity grant (for Tech Lead role).
