About the Role

Odin Mortgage & Tax is looking for a Team Lead, Credit to lead and inspire our high-performing mortgage credit team. You will drive productivity, improve approval conversion rates, and ensure compliance and quality for Australian mortgage applications in our fast-paced, detail-driven global environment.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee a team of credit analysts and loan processors handling Australian mortgage applications.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous credit assessment quality benchmarks.
  • Train and mentor team members on credit policy, analysis skills, and client communication.
  • Uphold Australian lending regulations, responsible lending obligations, and risk protocols.
  • Monitor pipelines, remove bottlenecks, and drive efficiency across loan processing.
  • Collaborate with management to implement process automation and technology upgrades.
  • Resolve escalated, complex loan scenarios and work closely with brokers, BDMs, and lenders.
  • Deliver accurate KPI reporting and continuously seek performance improvements.
  • Build a positive, accountable, and client-first team environment aligned with Odin’s values.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in credit assessment, loan processing, or a related financial services role.
  • Proven track record of leading or supervising a high-performing operations or credit team (loan processing, underwriting, or similar).
  • Experience working with international or remote management teams across time zones.
  • Skilled in managing workflows for financial product applications or comparable operational environments.
  • Strong familiarity with KPIs, SLA management, and performance tracking.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
  • Strong fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly absorb and apply regulatory and technical knowledge.

Nice to Have

  • Prior exposure to Australian mortgage products, particularly expat or foreign investor lending.
  • Background in banking, broking, or fintech, with a focus on credit or operations.
  • Hands-on experience using CRM, Loan Origination Systems (LOS), or workflow automation tools.
  • Participation in developing SOPs, training programs, or operational best practices for credit/operations teams.
  • Professional certifications in leadership, credit analysis, or mortgage broking.
