Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking a Teacher, School Psychologist to join our dedicated team. This role provides a full range of psychological services to support the academic and behavioral competence of students ages birth to 21 across the district. This is a candidate pool for the 2026-2027 school year.
What You'll Do
- Utilize evidence-based best practice in all aspects of work, including pre-referral interventions, consultations, and evaluations.
- Participate in design, implementation, and evaluation of early intervention with children experiencing academic and behavioral difficulty.
- Provide individual and group intervention services for students, including social skills training and crisis intervention.
- Assist in the development of crisis response teams and provide crisis response services.
- Assess individual students through direct and indirect methods, including use of the Minneapolis Problem-Solving Model.
- Collaborate with peers to develop, plan, and implement best practices based on the needs and abilities of the students.
- Support development and implementation of data collection and analysis systems to support data-based decision-making.
- Adhere to due process requirements, state and federal laws regarding students with disabilities, and professional ethics and standards of school psychology.
- Support building staff in developing good practices related to due process requirements.
- Participate in revenue-generating activities required for special education personnel, including logging services for MA billing, using the web-based EasyIEP system, and participating in scheduled studies for Medicaid-claiming and MDE Time Studies.
What We're Looking For
- Ph.D. or Ed.S. Degree in school psychology or a related field.
- Completion of a graduate program in School Psychology that is approved by NASP or consistent with NASP's Standards for Training and Field Placement Programs in School Psychology or was accredited at the time of graduation.
- Valid Minnesota License in School Psychology or eligible for license.
- Completion of a supervised internship in school psychology.
- Demonstrated continued professional development though course work, research, peer collaboration and/or job-embedded staff development.
Nice to Have
- Completion of a year-long supervised internship in school psychology.
- National School Psychologist Certification (NCSP) or NCSP-eligible.
- Prior successful experience in urban, multicultural education.
