TD Canada Trust is hiring a Bilingual (English/French) Residential Field Claims Advisor for our Montréal, Quebec location. Reporting to a Team Manager, Residential Claims, you will be responsible for handling residential claims by meeting with clients on-site to provide guidance and facilitate settlement. You will complete inspections, scope damages, assign contractors, and analyze information to determine coverage.
What You'll Do
- Provide personal and legendary client service, ensuring timely follow-ups.
- Manage and settle residential claims in accordance with operational standards.
- Balance the needs of the client and those of the insurer when settling claims.
- Complete estimates and negotiate with contractors on residential repairs.
- Control expenditures on all claim settlements.
- Assist and help to develop internal and external colleagues.
- Maintain industry accreditation and training on an ongoing basis.
What We're Looking For
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of home insurance policy coverage and claims adjudication.
- Thorough knowledge of residential construction procedures/restoration practices and experience in handling structural building damage claims.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
- Exercise good judgement in the settlement of claims and have effective negotiation skills.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and foster team spirit, while demonstrating superior interpersonal and communication skills.
- Sound problem-solving and analytical skills and excellent organization and time management skills.
- Clear Drivers Abstract.
- Strong typing and computer skills and proficiency with Xactanalysis/Xactimate, Guidewire ClaimCenter, and Microsoft Office.
- Valid AMF claims adjuster license.
