Moog Aircraft Group is hiring an apprentice-trained CNC/Manual Grinder to join our precision engineering team in Wolverhampton. You will be responsible for operating manual and CNC grinding equipment to produce high-integrity components for the aerospace industry, working to exceptionally close tolerances.
What You'll Do
- Set and operate Manual Studer machines (S20/RM250).
- Set and operate CNC Studer machines (S33/S31).
- Machine exotic and hardened materials to specification.
- Perform precision manual land grinding, achieving limits to 0.00005".
- Carry out your own first-off inspection and complete all necessary quality documentation.
- Set and run multiple machine processes effectively.
- Work a three-shift pattern, with a preference for night shift working.
What We're Looking For
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Proven mate grinding experience.
- Previous experience in an engineering or manufacturing role within the aerospace industry.
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and a mindset for process improvement.
- Experience using relevant inspection techniques and equipment to achieve drawing tolerances.
- Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained.
- Willingness to become self-certified and a quality stamp holder after a qualifying period.
