Liberty Tax Service is looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to prepare accurate returns for individuals and small businesses. You will play a critical role in helping clients achieve financial success and compliance by providing outstanding service and expert guidance.
What You'll Do
- Prepare individual and small business tax returns accurately and efficiently.
- Review financial records to determine forms needed for tax preparation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing client concerns and questions.
- Conduct client interviews to gather information about their tax situation.
- Explain tax return outcomes and provide tax planning advice.
- Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations through ongoing education.
- Verify the accuracy of data entered into tax software.
- Maintain organized and accurate records of all client interactions and returns.
- Ensure all required documents are filed correctly and securely.
- Keep up to date with client files and follow up on missing information.
- Participate in training sessions to maintain professional credentials.
- Work closely with other tax professionals and office staff to ensure seamless workflow.
- Assist in mentoring and training junior staff members as needed.
- Assist in marketing execution.
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Must have PTIN or be eligible to receive one.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation.

You will be a part of our Managed Operations department, reporting directly to the Office Supervisor.
