TIAA is looking for a Tax Manager - State Tax to provide expert consulting and ensure all appropriate tax regulations are followed. You will be responsible for delivering information-sharing tax services across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Monitor appropriate federal, state and local tax regulations and obligations.
- Prepare appropriate tax forms and instruments for filing with federal, state and local jurisdictions.
- Work with business units to keep them informed about tax implications of their operation.
- Help junior staff learn the appropriate regulations, filing procedures and internal communication needs.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years tax experience in a corporate and/or public accounting setting
Nice to Have
- 7+ years of experience in direct and indirect state tax
- CPA certification or similar advanced professional designation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex tax matters clearly to diverse audiences
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail and meeting critical deadlines
- Collaborative team player with demonstrated success working across functions and building strong working relationships
