NTT DATA is looking for a commercially focused Tax Manager to lead all Australian tax compliance and reporting. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to ATO requirements while supporting strategic tax planning and risk management across the organisation. This role works closely with the Group Financial Controller and has broad involvement across all areas of tax.
What You'll Do
- Manage preparation and review of company income tax returns.
- Oversee BAS, GST, FBT, and PAYG tax compliance.
- Manage quarterly tax effect accounting and deferred tax calculations.
- Manage the ATO Top 1,000 Combined Assurance Reviews (CAR) and related tax governance documentation.
- Coordinate external tax testing and implement process improvements.
- Manage anti-hybrid mismatch rules compliance and reporting.
- Support head office with compliance on OECD Pillar Two (Global Minimum Tax) requirements.
- Monitor changes in Australian tax legislation and advise on business impacts.
- Provide tax advice to internal stakeholders on transactions and business initiatives.
- Manage transfer pricing documentation, including updated Short Form Local File requirements.
- Support head office with Australian Public Country-by-Country (CbC) Reporting regulations.
- Support external auditors with income tax audit requirements.
- Prepare and present tax updates to the Board of Directors.
- Support and lead tax aspects of entity restructurings.
- Improve internal tax processes, controls, and governance frameworks.
- Liaise with external advisors and auditors.
- Mentor and develop junior finance and tax staff.
What We're Looking For
- CA or CPA qualification.
- 10+ years of experience in Australian tax within Big 4, mid-tier, public practice, or industry.
- Strong knowledge of Australian corporate tax, GST, and FBT legislation.
- Experience dealing with the ATO.
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain solid working relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent planning and organizing skills.
- Good knowledge of accounting processes and procedures.
- Problem analysis and solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work independently.
- Demonstrates mathematical and deductive reasoning skills.
- Ability to produce a high quality of work and be precise and meticulous when preparing tax returns.
- Demonstrates high ethics and adherence to company values.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the IT industry.
- Exposure to cross-border transactions.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or BPC.
