Responsibilities
- Translate mission needs into technical actions by clarifying operational outcomes, mission threads, user workflows, constraints, dependencies, and evidence for next decisions.
- Develop and assess architectures by creating and evaluating options for complex multi-system capabilities, including functional boundaries, interfaces, data flows, external dependencies, and operational concepts.
- Solve cross-disciplinary problems by analyzing issues across hardware, software, networks, data, cybersecurity, operations, test, infrastructure, and sustainment, identifying causes, consequences, and corrective options.
- Integrate independently governed efforts by working across program offices, technical teams, operators, laboratories, test organizations, security stakeholders, and industry partners to align interfaces and delivery timing.
- Build trusted technical relationships by understanding team objectives, communicating facts without blame, following through on commitments, and influencing decisions through credibility.
- Frame decision-ready trade space by comparing options across mission effect, performance, cost, schedule, interoperability, cybersecurity, integration complexity, sustainment, time-to-field, and production scalability.
- Design rapid learning activities by defining analyses, demonstrations, interface events, prototypes, simulations, and knowledge points that test assumptions and expose risk before commitment.
- Connect analysis to integration by translating studies into interface agreements, integration criteria, configuration boundaries, data exchanges, test objectives, and executable milestones.
- Support testing and operational acceptance by planning or participating in reviews, laboratory events, mission-thread tests, demonstrations, user evaluations, anomaly resolution, and acceptance activities.
- Preserve modularity and options by advancing open interfaces, modular increments, replaceable components, data-rights objectives, and competitive technical paths to reduce lock-in.
- Synchronize technical delivery by maintaining views of dependencies, readiness, risks, decisions, evidence, and milestones, identifying where work should accelerate or pause to preserve integration windows.
- Produce decision-focused products by developing technical papers, architecture views, trade studies, risk assessments, integration roadmaps, test summaries, briefings, and action records.
- Lead defined technical efforts by facilitating meetings, coordinating contributors, challenging unsupported assumptions, mentoring teammates, surfacing blockers early, and maintaining accountability through delivery.
